NEWS & RELEASESIndonesia Targets 7 Million Tourist Arrivals in 2010, up 8%-10% compared to 2009Tuti Sunario. In 2010 Indonesia targets a total of 7 million international visitors spending on average US$ 1,000 per stay, thus contributing some US$ 7 billion to Indonesias economy, said Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Hatta Rajasa. This is an increase of between 8%-10% growth compared to 2009 which is above the expected 2010 economic growth of 5.5%-6%. Tourism may see 1.3 pct growth: Official Sukadana (ANTARA News) - Indonesia`s tourism sector could record a 1.31 percent growth in the midst of economic recovery efforts following the global crisis this year, a tourism ministry official said. Moderate Recovery Forecast for 2010 The softening in the rate of decline seen in the last months is expected to continue during the remainder of the year. As this is in line with the UNWTOs initial projection, for the full year the forecast for international tourist arrivals is maintained at between -6% to -4%.
